I took the 12 hour Kitesurfing class from Alex and was very impressed with the level of his facilities and the quality of education he provided me at his Sawadee Beach location.

We began and ended each day in front of the white board reviewing the lesson plans and concepts before heading out for usually 3 hours out on the water. Out in the water Alex was very patient (especially when I crashed my kite) and took the time to answer all my questions. He had a good knack for providing me with just the right amount of info at the right time to help me excel quickly. I really appreciated his focus on safety. The course tuition also includes a great little book on kitesurfing that reviews everything we learned in class plus has instruction on more advanced moves. By the end of the 12 hours I was doing water starts in both directions on my own. I was able to fly my kite easily and even with one hand. When I crashed my kite in the water I was able to easily relaunch it. Most importantly, I felt much more confident, safe and at ease with this whole extreme sport.

Alex’s facilities were also very impressive. His beachfront location is 100 meters from the shore and makes it very convenient for setting up and cleaning up at the end of the day. The beach itself is clean and very sandy so you don’t have to worry about cutting your feet on anything. The water is relatively calm and the wind was a consistent 11-16 knots everyday making ideal conditions for learning. He also set up his own weather station to track real-time wind conditions. He has plenty of boards, kites and equipment to use, rent and purchase. Though I felt no pressure whatsoever to buy anything. He also offers well priced accommodations and yummy breakfast.

I really enjoyed my experience with Alex’s company. It was a very positive atmosphere and fun time for me. If you are want to jump right into kitesurfing and quickly learn the fundamentals so you are up, riding and enjoying the sport safely, then I highly recommend Alex’s Sawadee beach center. If you are based in the Gulf region I think this course would make a wonderful 3 day getaway. Sawadee beach is 3 hours from Fujairah where I live, but I am already looking forward to coming down again.

Thanks for organizing the trip to Ras Al Hadd it was truly ACE.
Although we must have picked the only weekend without much wind (even though you guys had all the wind during the week) we all had a great time.

You're a pro AND a gentleman with it Alex.
